Monday, Monday …………….

It’s a bit of a grey Monday, here in Biddulph.  How nice it would be to hop on  a plane and spend a few days soaking up some sunshine!   … anywhere would be nice.  (I think we may all be seriously in danger of getting rickets ~  eeeeeek!!)

Just seen a tall gnome going into Sainsbury’s ………… scary.  Wonder if he’s going in to buy toadstools?

daffodils

‘They’ said that yesterday was supposed to be the most depressing day of the year!  How can anyone know that?  We had a nice day – my office-slave brightened up our office with lovely daffodils and when I got home the new tv had arrived & it worked at first attempt!! …and the sun shone……

good news ……

Not doing very well this year!!! The point of a blog is to write something fairly interesting fairly regularly …………. am failing on both counts!!!!!

Anyway – what’s happening in our lovely town at present? I’ve heard an unsubstantiated rumour that Haldanes store (‘old’ Co-op) is to cease trading in the town & be replaced by another store – not sure who. It’s a shame, but hopefully another company will come in & turn the place round, and it’s very good news that it’s not closing down altogether!   The town centre does seem to be quite busy during the day – and not everyone is clutching an orange shopping bag!!   ………. although I do seem to have quite a collection of them – mostly in my car boot – which is a bit of a pain when you’re in the shop!

Have noticed that the days are getting slightly longer – good news for us all.  Just hope that nasty freezing weather has slunk off & won’t be coming back til next Christmas.  It makes everything just so much harder ………. especially getting up in the mornings only to spend valuable time clearing & scraping the car & slip-sliding to work!

Happy New Year!

Hope you’ve all managed to evade the many ailments out there over the festive period and are enjoying the balmy temperatures!  (well, nearly balmy ~ after  minus-12  it has been feeling quite warm!)

We’ve arrived back to work this week  to find technical problems!!!  Not being very technical, we’ve just been switching the printer on & off and hoping it would fix the terminal error ~ alas, no luck.   It seems that the printer needed to go back to its makers for repair & on checking how much this would be,  it has proved more cost-effective to just buy another.  Ridiculous – the ‘old’ one was only about  six years old, which is apparantly positively geriatric in office-machine-world!   Now we just need to set the new one up …. hmmmnn……….

Happy Christmas!

Well, the Big Day is almost here and we’re all shopped out! Have been doing lots of our Xmas shopping in Biddulph ~ it’s much easier than fighting through hot, stuffy shopping centres and standing in endless queues.

Aren’t we lucky this year – a white Christmas!! Hopefully, it will stay like it is right now & not snow again so everyone can get where they are supposed to be for the Big Day (in my case – the kitchen!!)

Wishing you all a very happy holiday season and a healthy New Year :D

a busy day

oh no ….. five pm already & no blog blogged! It’s been really busy today, after a quiet start to the week. (Surprising really, with such a snowy morning – you would think everyone would be hard at it digging themselves out!) So ~ sorry but will have to try harder tomorrow :)
ps – don’t you think the Christmas tree is simply stunning this year?

…. a bit of a bleat

We’ve decided this is a bit of a cross between a blog & a tweet ~ a bleet (bleat)?! If I want to add a bit every day it probably will be a bit shorter than a proper blog. (Are there blog-police out there who will send messages saying it’s all wrong??? Is anybody out there…………..?)

We’re waiting for more snow – at the moment the sun is out and there doesn’t seem much threat of snowfall. Inside, the heating is working (at last!) & we’re all toasty-warm.

The town seems quiet today ~ the calm before the storm?

clever stuff!

…but all a bit too clever for me (it took me an hour to get this far with setting up the blog!!) Anyway – hello again on a wintry Monday afternoon. It all looks very Christmassy out in the high street ~ the lights are sparkling and the shoppers are shopping. Hot chocolate is calling!!!!

Hello world!

Welcome to Blog.com.
